By creating an account and using Sumant you accept these terms. If you don't agree, don't create an account or use the service.
1. What Sumant is
Sumant is a personal-finance web application that lets you record income, expenses, accounts and savings goals manually or import movements from CSV/XLSX files, then sync the resulting data across devices.
Sumant does not connect to your bank nor access your bank accounts. All data comes from what you enter or import. The file is processed in your browser and is not uploaded as a file.
Sumant may suggest categories through a self-hosted model that runs on your device and compares the description with your own history. You decide whether to confirm or change it.
2. User account
To use Sumant you need to create an account with your email and a password. You are responsible for:
- Keeping your password confidential.
- All activity carried out from your account.
- Notifying us of any unauthorized access at hello@sumant.app.
- Being at least 16 years old to sign up.
3. Permitted use
You may use Sumant to manage your own personal finances. The following is prohibited:
- Using the service for illegal or fraudulent purposes.
- Attempting to access other users' data.
- Using automated tools to scrape or abuse the service.
- Reselling, sublicensing or redistributing access to the service.
- Reverse-engineering the code or the private API.
4. Your data
The financial data you enter is yours. We do not sell it nor use it for commercial or advertising purposes. You can export it from Settings → Data and request account deletion from Settings → Account. The app clears the device and closes the session only after the server confirms deletion. 5. Free plan and PRO Founder
Sumant offers a free plan with the essential features and a PRO Founder plan with advanced features (unlimited CSV and XLSX imports, import templates, categorisation rules, custom categories, recurring transactions, unlimited goals, historical analytics and CSV/XLSX export).
- Payments: processed by Stripe. Sumant never stores your card.
- PRO Founder is a single payment: €19.99 once. It is not a subscription, it does not renew and there is nothing to cancel. The licence does not expire.
- What the licence covers: the PRO features described above and future updates to the Sumant PRO core. Future services that generate ongoing external costs (for example data providers or third-party syncing) may be offered as separate optional add-ons.
- Earlier plans: monthly and yearly subscriptions and the lifetime payment bought before 6 August 2026 keep their terms. Subscriptions keep renewing and can be cancelled from Settings → Account → Manage subscription; you keep PRO until the paid period ends.
6. Refunds and right of withdrawal
PRO Founder is one-off digital content. As a consumer in the EU you have the 14-day right of withdrawal set out in Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007.
- Refund within 14 days: email hello@sumant.app from your account address and we refund the full amount. No reason needed.
- What happens on refund: PRO access is deactivated. Your data stays yours: the account keeps working on the free plan and you can export everything at any time.
- Waiving the right: if you expressly ask to start using the PRO features before the 14 days are up and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal, the exception in art. 103.m TRLGDCU applies. All your other consumer rights remain intact.
- Errors on our side: for duplicate charges or billing issues, email hello@sumant.app and we fix it with no deadline.
7. Service availability
Sumant is in beta. Interruptions, changes or discontinuations may occur without prior notice. We do everything reasonably possible to keep the service available and data intact, but we don't guarantee continuous or uninterrupted availability.
We recommend periodically exporting your information from Settings → Data as a local copy. Technical service copies follow the periods described in the privacy policy.
8. No financial advice
Sumant is a recording and visualization tool. It does not constitute financial, tax, legal or investment advice. Decisions you make based on information shown in the app are your sole responsibility.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Sumant will not be liable for indirect damages, data loss, lost profits or any other consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use the service. Total liability toward you shall not exceed the amount paid for the service during the 12 months prior to the triggering event.
This limitation does not apply to willful misconduct, gross negligence, or non-waivable rights granted to users by Spanish consumer law.
10. Intellectual property
The code, design, brand, logo and contents of Sumant are the property of its creators. You may not copy, reproduce, modify or reuse them without prior written authorization.
The data you enter is yours at all times. You grant us a limited license to process it for the sole purpose of providing the service.
11. Suspension and cancellation
We may suspend or cancel your account if you breach these terms, use the service fraudulently or put other users at risk. Except in serious cases, we'll notify you by email in advance.
You may request account deletion at any time from Settings → Account. The flow is shown as complete only after a valid server confirmation; periods for technical copies and legal obligations are described in the privacy policy.
12. Modifications
We may update these terms. If the change is material we'll notify you by email (if you have an account) with at least 15 days' notice. If you continue using the service after that period, you'll be deemed to accept the new terms.
13. Applicable law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Spanish law. For any dispute, the parties submit to the courts of the owner's domicile in Spain, without prejudice to the rights granted to users by consumer law.
